Why are so many people in love with golf launch monitors? Well we are all intrigues by who or what is the biggest fastest strongest no matter which sport we are talking about. We want to know who the fastest runner is, which Indy car or Stock car goes the fastest as well as who can throw the hardest pitch. It gets us all going.

Golf launch monitors can tell you how fast your club head is moving and much, much more. For example, golf launch monitors can also track the golf ball speed as it leaves the golf club, the launch angle of the golf ball as well as the spin rate of the golf ball.

So what does this mean to you, right? Many people think that golf launch monitors are only for the better players. This is simply not true. A mid handicap or a high handicap can take this information and use it to improve their golf game. This is done by finding optimal launch conditions as well as the optimal spin rate for them and their golf clubs. This will allow them to hit the golf ball farther and straighter.

Many different companies offer golf swing launch monitors to the consumer today. Obviously it depends on the features of the unit as to the cost of the unit. You can currently find personal launch monitors for just over $200. The more elaborate golf launch monitors will go way up into the thousands of dollars.

If you teach the game of golf, No matter what level or grade of launch monitor that you purchase, it should be able to give you the club head speed, ball speed, launch angle, and the position of the club face at impact. In addition, the golf monitor should have some memory so that you can accumulate data on a student.

In order to hit the golf ball as efficiently as possible, using golf launch monitors to learn about your club head speed as well as your ball speed and launch angle is absolutely critical.

In a perfect world, you would like your ball speed to be one and a half times your club head speed. To make it a little clearer for you, if your club head speed is 100 mph then your optimal ball speed would be 150mph. Ultimately, this is difficult to do as even some Tour Players struggle to get to these numbers.

Your optimal launch angle for the driver will vary depending on your club head speed. It used to be macho to claim that you had a seven degree driver in your bag. With the recent changes in golf technology, it has been proven that depending on your club head speed and how you deliver the golf club into the ball; you may need a more lofted driver to achieve the optimal distance.

When purchasing golf launch monitors, many come with software. Just make sure that you current computer system can handle the new software. Being excited about the new unit and not being able to use it, is very frustrating.

Do not be scared of the new technology that is available to you. Embrace it as it is here to stay. Furthermore, others are taking advantage of the information to hit longer straighter shots and are lowering their golf scores. There is no reason why you should not be doing the same as well.
