The Greens On Game: A simple game which players compete for the most number of greens hit in regulation. A straight bet can be placed or a given value can be placed on a per green basis. This is a great game for practice of approach shots and course management. Players compete only on the par three holes on a closest to the hole basis.
Guess Your Putts: Players wage on the total amount of putts they will have during the round of golf and the closest to their score wins. To keep all players honest this game is best played with another game which takes into account score as well. Otherwise players may constantly miss greens in attempt to chip close and have a short putt on each hole. In event of a tie; the player with the lowest over all score will win.
Fairway Game: Most fairways hit during a round of golf. Par three's do not have fairways and therefore the game is void during play on these holes.
Bingo-Bango-Bongo: This game is a classic and is very popular with the more mature golfers. Bingo, Bango, Bongo is a simple game to keep track of and can be played with players of all abilities. The object of this game is simple; gather more points than your competitors. Points are gathered using the following guidelines.
Player who hits the longest drive (on the fairway) = 1 point
Player who gets to the green first = 1 point
Player who puts their ball in the hole first = 1 point
It is important to follow the order of play correctly while playing this game. Furthest from the hole always go first and all missed putts must be marked. No gimmies are allowed.
Poker Hand: This game is great if you have players of all levels playing. Each person keeps their own score for 9 holes of golf. When the game is over, choose 5 random holes as the cards for your poker hand. Who ever has the best poker hands wins. The only difference is when counting pairs, straights, or high card, the LOWEST score would win. Example: if two players each have a pair, the lowest pair would win instead of the highest pair (because in golf, lower is better). You can play two hands of poker if you play 18 holes. One on the front 9 and one on the back 9.
Off the Mark: Team or person with the least infractions wins the Pot. Assign yourself one point for each of the below infractions you incur during your round of golf. (Note: you can incur more than 1 infraction per hole.
3 Putt = Player uses 3 or more putts on a green.
OB = Player hit a ball out of bounds
Water = Player hits a ball in the water
Lost ball = Player loses a ball (5 minute rule for looking for lost balls)
Sand Man = Player hits the sand
Alternate Shot Match: This is played with 2 players per team but only one ball. The players on each team must alternate shots on every hole. The teams then compare scores on each hole and the team with the best score wins the hole. The team who wins the most holes wins the match. |
