Golf Sponsor Signs Can Come Alive

Without sponsors, many golf tournaments would simply not be possible. Sponsors help take the financial burden from the shoulders of the event organizers and spread it around. Traditionally sponsors are rewarded with a small sign at hole. While most sponsors readily admit that they are sponsoring tournaments in order to support a cause in which they believe, they also admit they would prefer more memorable golf sponsor signs.
The most often seen types of sponsor signs are the discrete black and white printed sign. Though seen might be an exaggeration as these small thank you signs are generally so bland as to be instantly forgotten. Part of the reason that signs of this type were chosen is usually due to cost since more elaborate signs can be more expensive.
Usually sponsor signs are sold in order to defray the costs of the tournament and sometimes to raise money for charity tournament events. In any event, a sponsor most often would happily buy a more expensive whole sign in order to get a more memorable one. Charity is wonderful and most business persons have special ones but a more memorable sign could actually help raise more money.
The choices in signs that acknowledge sponsors are diverse and definitely not limited to the black and white printed card. With advanced printing technologies today, a temporary card might be ordered which fitted the sponsor logos and colors exactly. What is attractive about these upscale signs is that sponsors in most cases defray the cost of the new signs themselves. The tournament organizers or charity will see more in the way of available funds rather than less by offering memorable signs.
Businesses who strongly support local tournaments have been known to order expensive custom golf signs when acceptable to the organizers. It certainly provides better value to the business but a better answer could be for the organizers to begin to offer these signs instead. Or to allow placement of a custom sign for an increased donation. The custom cards need be no larger than the standard signs but certainly can stand out more.
Golfers are known for their politeness as a group and tournaments normally set the standards for polite and tasteful behavior at a sporting event. A golf tournament will have very small signs to thank the sponsors because it is discrete and tasteful. Rather than loud blaring billboards small signs which do not offend the eye, or pose a hazard for the crowd are used.
However, granted that good taste is important, there is no reason to sacrifice brand recognition for it when very discrete custom sign options exist. Custom signs for each sponsor do not have to cost the tournament organizers more either. Instead the cost of a hole sign can be increased to cover the increased expenses and most sponsors are happy to pay the difference.
